Generator noise control insulation installed. We used 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood with a layer of Dynamat sanwiched between them, then another layer of Dynamat and to finish it off we used 1" thick mineral wool. The Generator suports also have a 2x4 under the plywood and one on top of it, very sturdy. The duct in the center is where cool air is suplied via a 110v fan directly wired to the generator. The duct to the left where the wires are hanging is 2" from the top of the enclosure to ensure hot air is expended out.
A little tip, when using the screw down connections, "tin " the wire ends with solder for a better connection. Also stager the wire lenth so when installed they lay pretty.
See how neatly the stagered cut wires lay. Also note the zip ties we used to ensure the relays stay put. Don't put the zip ties on too tight, they are just to ensure the relays dont back out.
Next-Gen generator install complete. We fabricated a silencer for the intake out of pvc. This cut 2 db off the intake noise. We then got an education from Sam at Sounddown.The long white hose is specifically cut to length to cancel out the intake harmonics. This took another db off ! testing the db level was done with a downloaded app on our phone. The finished install measures 63 db when loaded. Not silent but not hateful.

More on our off season projects. We needed to add 3 1/2" ports for sea water so rather than install 3 thru hulls we got a 1 1/4". We got a 1 1/4" nipple and 3 1/2" barb fittings. A little tig welding on the stainless and we have what we want.

Panda generator vibration isolation mounts were toast. Panda wanted $ 15 each. A little research and we found 4 of them ( 8mm vibration dampeners ) on Amazon for under than 10 bucks !
